Guide / applications

Write claims your team can stand behind.

A strong application connects what you say to what your organization can show and deliver.

Keep the source close

Separate evidence from aspiration in each draft.

  1. Use approved program descriptions and current figures.
  2. Record where a claim came from and when it was checked.
  3. Flag missing support before a reviewer sees a polished sentence.

Align narrative and budget

Review the same program plan across both documents.

  1. Check that activities in the narrative appear in the budget.
  2. Confirm match and restricted-cost rules against current funder guidance.
  3. Ask program and finance owners to review their own parts.

Approve and retain

Make the final decision traceable.

  1. Approve a defined revision, not an evolving document.
  2. Keep the submission receipt with the approved version.
  3. Reuse evidence carefully; re-check it for the next funder and reporting period.
